Officially endorsed by New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. for use in Berkey gravity-fed water systems, these economical replacement filters are designed as an alternative to Black Berkey Elements and can also be used with many other compatible gravity-fed filtration systems.

Sold as a set of 2, Phoenix Gravity elements use premium CTC 60 coconut shell activated carbon combined with a dense, porous filtration structure designed to reduce a broad range of contaminants and impurities commonly found in municipal drinking water.

Filtration Performance

Phoenix Gravity Filter Elements are designed to reduce a broad range of contaminants and impurities commonly found in municipal drinking water.

The filtration media combines microscopic pore filtration with activated-carbon adsorption to address contaminants and impurities including certain:

• Chlorine and chloramines
• Silt and sediment
• Rust and particulates
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
• PFAS, PFOA, and PFOS
• Pesticides and herbicides
• Pharmaceuticals
• Industrial and synthetic organic chemicals
• Certain heavy metals
• Taste and odor impurities

The filtration process is designed to leave naturally occurring minerals such as calcium and magnesium in the water and does not reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS).

Certified & Third-Party Tested

Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ Filter Elements are certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of aesthetic impurities such as chlorine, chloramines, particulates, and substances affecting taste and odor.

They are also certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 372 for compliance with lead-free drinking-water system requirements.

The elements have also been evaluated by accredited third-party laboratories using applicable EPA guidelines and ANSI/NSF protocols and standards.

Recommended Filter Life

New Millennium Concepts recommends replacing each Phoenix Gravity Filter Element after approximately 2,750 gallons of use, providing approximately 5,500 gallons per set of 2 elements.

Actual filter life may be shorter depending on the quality of the incoming water.

Flow Rate

A pair of Phoenix Gravity Filter Elements can provide a maximum flow rate of up to approximately 4.2 gallons per hour.*

Filtration rates may increase when the elements are installed in larger gravity-fed systems such as the Imperial Berkey or Crown Berkey.

The included red food coloring is used for the filtration-system performance test after installation.

Installation & Priming

Phoenix Gravity elements install in the upper chamber of Berkey® systems and many similar gravity-fed filtration systems.

The elements must be properly primed before first use. The included PrimeEasy Universal Primer is designed to fit a wide range of faucets and helps flush process dust while displacing air from the filtration media so water can flow properly.

Priming is also recommended after an extended period when the filters have not been used.

PF-2 Compatibility

Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition Filter Elements are fully compatible with Berkey PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Elements.

Shipping Restriction: Not available for sale to residents of California or Iowa.
