Come, Stay, Celebrate! tells the inspiring story of The Shelter Hostel in Eilat, Israel—a haven of hospitality and reconciliation in the heart of the Middle East.
Follow John and Judy Pex on their journey from free-spirited hippies in the 1970s to their conversion, immigration to Israel, and founding of The Shelter Hostel near the Red Sea. For over 30 years, this unique hostel has welcomed people from more than 90 countries, serving as a beacon of light and unity. Jews, Arabs, believers, and non-believers alike share a roof in an atmosphere of acceptance and peace.
Through touching, humorous, and heartfelt stories, Judith Galblum Pex reveals how God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. In a world fraught with division, Come, Stay, Celebrate! offers a refreshing perspective on hospitality, faith, and the power of human connection.

"It was one of those days when you feel stuck in front of a hair dryer and think you'd collapse after walking a block. Anyone arriving in Eilat after the six-hour drive through the desert was struck by the dryness in his nostrils and burning in his throat.
The Peace Cafe' provided little respite from the heat, being just a hole-in-the-wall with an awning out front. Located right off the town's main street, the Peace Cafte' was the popular hangout for travelers in Eilat, a place to meet friends, get a cheap meal or drink, listen to music, or simply sit and watch the world go by. John often found a reason to drop by there, whether to quench his thirst or just strike up a conversation. Speaking five languages fluently plus bits of others, John was rarely at a loss for words and always found someone to talk to."
