Chestnut Lyre.
This beautiful 1/2 shekel lyre harp is hand crafted in Israel in a workshop in the village of Rosh Pina, near the Sea of Galilee. Whenever possible the artist uses recycled timber or wood which he collects from the pruning of trees in Galilee.
In addition to wood, nylon and metal, these harps are also comprised of great care, heart and soul, and definitely sound like it!

David was known for playing the harp. He was not only an expert harpist and psalms composer, who used the harp in the royal court of King Saul, but was also a recognized musician and builder of classical harp designs.
The lyre is tuned to the C Major scale:
