"The Gate To Jerusalem" By Israeli Artist Bracha Lavee

This beautiful piece, titled "The Gate to Jerusalem", depicts the architecture of Jerusalem style buildings with arched windows, domed roofs and stone gates. In the distance the mountains surrounding Jerusalem are seen. The sky consists of different arched shapes with the words "Ahava ViShalom BiYerushalayim" (Love and Peace in Jerusalem) floating in it.

The Gate to Jerusalem by Israeli Artist Bracha Lavee is an unframed print.  This reproduction of the artist's original work is matted in white and signed on the mat at lower left. The Image Size measures 4 1/2" x 6 3/8" and the Matted Size measures 8 3/4" x 10 1/2".

Bracha's expressive art combines Jerusalem, Israeli and Bible themes with a contemporary visual style which is deeply rooted in ancient and modern biblical experiences The vivid, semi-tropical colors found in her works result in strikingly dramatic works of art that also exude the warmth and energy of the Holy Land. Her prints shine and have been described as "lustrous" and "energetic" and we cannot agree more!

Bracha Lavee was born in Poland in 1948 and arrived in Israel in 1957. She lived and studied in Tiberias, where even as a small child her artistic talents were apparent. In 1970, following graduation from high school and the completion of military service, she enrolled in the Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem.  Her husband Menachem is also a designer and artist.
