Prayer Shawl Set - Cotton - Gray with Black - Threaded and Silver Stripes - By Gabrieli
This beautiful hand-woven cotton prayer shawl set (tallit set) is from Gabrieli in Jerusalem where they use the only the highest quality pure cotton. This set includes a cotton prayer shawl, also known as a talllit, a Kippah and a matching bag. The gray is actually alternating white and black threads for an overall gray color.
The cotton prayer shawl has a ½ inch finished hem along the length. The ends are frayed and tied to form twelve 7 ½-inch tassels at each end, but the corners are reinforced with 3 inch by 3 inch sewn and finished cotton pieces with openings for the tzittzit. An intricate 15 ½ inch wide embellished area is 6” from each end of the Tallit. This decorative area includes stripes of gray, silver, and black.
The atara (neckband) is a 2 1/2 inch wide white fabric sewn on the tallit. Embroidered in silver at each end of the atara (neckband) is a 1 ½ inch crown, a 1 ½ inch wide Torah scroll bordered by two 1 inch wide Star of David. In Hebrew is the blessing, "Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to wrap ourselves in Tzitzit."
The Kippah has gray fabric at the bottom 1 ¼ inch edge with the center in black. Through the black is silver threads and some white threads for an intricate design. The Kippah is lined in black.
The bag is 12 inches wide and 10 inches deep with a flap opening and gray lined in black. The flap cover has a 2 ½ inch wide black band with 1 inch gray borders. The gray borders alternate with light gray and dark gray stripes. Within the black band are strands of silver threads, white threads, and black threads.
