Frankincense, Myrrh & Spikenard- Prized for its unique fragrance since biblical times, frankincense is an aromatic resin extracted from an oriental, exotic tree. It is famed for its medicinal and healing properties, as well as the tempting, timeless fragrance. It is famously combined with myrrh and spikenard, some of the oldest spices in history. It has been used as a flavoring for food, medicine, painkiller, disinfectant and most famously, a perfume. It's sweet-smoky fragrance is distinctive, and when mixed with a carrier oil, creates a tempting and timeless scent.
Hyssop -Hyssop with its fresh woody, slightly sweet spiced scent, it mentioned numerous times throughout the Bible. " Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow” Psalm 51:7. In Leviticus, God commanded His people to use hyssop in the ceremonial cleansing of people and houses. Additionally, Hyssop also appears at Jesus’ crucifixion, when the Roman soldiers offered Jesus a drink of wine vinegar on a sponge at the end of a stalk of hyssop.
Cedar of Lebanon Anointing Oil – healing anointing oil. Cedars of Lebanon is the strong, fragrant wood used to build David's house, Solomon's house, and much of the First Temple. It was also used along with hyssop in the cleansing of a leper's house. It speaks of strength, permanence, wholeness, and restoration.
